Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am the president of Hagrid’s Hope . I have loved animals since I was a little girl. I have two sons and one grandson. I have devoted many years of my life to those with special needs ( including my son) with various activities and daily living . You may see me when we are called out to rescue cats or kittens . I have a special place in my heart for mother (cats) and babies , the special needs cats or kittens , or injured cats that need more TLC.
Hi my name is James .
I am the CEO of Hagrid’s Hope. I currently work full time for a rental company . I have adopted many challenged cats over the years and have helped them gain their independence and better quality of life . I devote my off hours to the rescue , I also do part time work to help support the rescues daily needs such as food , litter , medical necessities . I spend long hours every night with our rescue to ensure all of them get the individual attention they need to be successfully adopted one day . Many years ago I was indeed homeless myself and that has taught me a great compassion for people and animals that need housing and food . You will see me at the rescue missions when we are called out to find ferrals or cats and kittens in need . I am the one climbing the trees or climbing under the stairs , sometimes even into the rafters to save the cat or kitten . I love what we do here and appreciate everyone’s help and support .
Hello, my name is Zak Kizer. I am the Media Director of Hagrid's Hope, which means I'm in charge of the website and social media pages. Anytime you see a post about a cat being up for adoption or an update from a forever home, it's probably from me. Also, I designed the business cards we've been handing out.
I went to Ball State, and currently teach high school English at the charter school over in Hammond. I've always had a love for animals, and it feels great to channel that love into something that does some good for the community.
I’m Kate, the secretary at Hagrid’s Hope. And with me in the photo are the 3 kittens that I rescued when their mom brought them to my front door. (Sadly, they were all very sick, and she didn’t survive.) I have always loved animals, but cats are my favorite. For 25 years, I was an English teacher working with at-risk teens. Now, I’m mostly retired, but still teaching yoga. It breaks my heart to see the way that some people treat cats as if they’re just disposable and throw them out when they become inconvenient. Our city has so many homeless cats. That’s why I started working with Hagrid’s Hope. I have been amazed and impressed by the dedication and care that Jennifer and James give to the cats at the rescue. All the volunteers are great to work with. And every life saved is a victory.

Hi, I'm Elijah Drummond, and I'm 12 years old. I'm a volunteer at our cat rescue organization, and I absolutely love helping out with the cats. At home, I help take care of Mittens, Mango, and Moonshadow. Two of them are kittens, and one is an adult cat.
Cats are my favorite animals because they're so joyful and fun to be around. I have a deep compassion for animals and nature, which is why I love volunteering at the rescue. My favorite part of volunteering is playing with the cats and making sure they're happy and healthy.
I'm proud to be part of the team that makes a difference in the lives of these wonderful animals.
